These Terms of Use govern the use of the Contríto app (the “app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What Contríto is

Contríto is an app that supports the spiritual life (examination of conscience, discernment journal, virtues, and night examen). It is a personal, devotional aid, with no intention of replacing the guidance of a priest, confessor, or spiritual director.

2. Permitted use

You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to: (a) use the app for unlawful purposes; (b) copy, modify, decompile, or reverse-engineer the app, except as permitted by law; (c) interfere with the app’s operation or bypass its security measures.

3. Your data and content

The content you record (sins, notes, journal entries) is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. You are solely responsible for that content and for keeping backups, if you wish. The use of anonymous usage data is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Intellectual property

The app, its visual identity, texts, icons, and other elements are protected by intellectual property rights. Quotations from spiritual sources and Sacred Scripture belong to their respective authors and rights holders.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Contríto is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including the possible loss of data stored locally (for example, when uninstalling the app or switching devices).

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, along with the date of the last update. Continued use of the app after changes means acceptance of the new terms.
